About Victor Okwegada

I’m Victor Okwegada, a UI/UX designer, educator, and passionate community builder dedicated to bridging technology, art, and education. With over six years of experience in teaching and digital design, I’ve built a reputation for empowering students, mentoring talents, and leading grassroots tech communities across Africa.

I founded the Great Minds In Tech Foundation, an initiative providing free access to tech education, digital skills, and career opportunities for underserved students. My mission is clear: equip the next generation with the tools to create, lead, and innovate

I also serve as the Slack community leader in Warri and the Webflow community leader in Port Harcourt and contribute to Stellar’s developer ecosystem in Ireland as an ambassador, where I focus on expanding decentralised innovation in new regions.

Victor is a passionate and dedicated individual who is committed to making a difference in the world through technology. He is an inspiration to many, and he is sure to continue to make a positive impact on the tech community for many years to come.

What I Do

UI/UX Design

• I design intuitive, inclusive, and accessible digital products.
• Specialised in Figma, Webflow, and no-code/low-code platforms.
• Focus on user research, wireframes, prototyping, and responsive UI.

Tech Education & Mentorship

• I teach UI/UX design and tech skills to secondary school students and young adults.
• Over 1,000 students were trained directly or through community events and classes.
• The curriculum is developed around design thinking, product development, and career growth.

Community Leadership

• I Was Once A Member of the Twitter Developers community, the Polkadot community, and the Webflow community.
• Organiser of the InnovationInnovation and Creativity Fest, attracting hundreds across sectors.
• Lead initiatives for Slack, Webflow, Stellar,vet , and 3MTT Nigeria.
• Driven campaigns, workshops, and hackathons for youth inclusion in tech.

Youth Empowerment Projects

• Organiser of nationwide competitions with funding support from Webflow, Slack, and individual donors.
• Active partner of Nigeria’s 3MTT Program as a certified training provider (ALC).
• Active partner of the TVET programme for technical skill training as a training and learning centre.
• Mentoring new community leaders in Africa and Europe.

Key Projects

• Innovation and Creativity Fest (2022–2024)
  An annual event hosted by the Great Minds in Tech Foundation bridging science, tech, arts, and education.
• Involved:
  • Guest speakers from education, design, Web3, and government sectors.
  • Student competitions, project showcases, and exhibitions.

  Federal Government initiative. I serve as a training provider (ALC) in Delta State, overseeing:

• UI/UX design curriculum, etc.

• Federal Ministry of Education's Technical and Vocational Training Program. I serve as a training provider in the state. I oversee the learning and training process of the hardware and phone repairs program.

  Currently helping build Stellar developer communities in Ireland:
  • Led ambassador events, hackathons, and deep-dive sessions.
